Explore the 3 Best Colon Cleansers on the Market

Not all foods are created equal and not everything we consume is good for our colon. It’s important to not only learn which foods are healthy to eat during a colon cleansing, but also what foods to avoid. Your colon is important and you should be eating colon-friendly foods in your daily life and not just during a colon cleansing routine.

Often times, foods will taste good, but they won’t necessarily be the best for you.  Let’s face it, that’s why weight gain is such a problem in the United States.  Here, particularly, we overeat and eat too much processed foods.

Carbohydrates

Carbohydrates are important to your overall health.  Low-carb diets were the “in” thing for a while, but newer research has proven that these aren’t necessarily the best way to go.  Not all carbohydrates are unhealthy.  In fact, we need some carbohydrates in order to survive and for energy.  Good carbohydrates are those which do not contain refined sugar.  Good carbohydrates are available in the form of grains, vegetables, fruits and rice.  All of these foods still contain all of their original vitamins and minerals.

Fats

Again, you need some fat to stay healthy.  A diet that is completely without fat is not necessarily the healthiest of choices.  Think of seeds and nuts when going for the good fats.  These types of fats are vital to your health and for the function of much of your body.  Saturated fats from animals are what should be avoided.  Eating excessive amounts of such fats can cause all sorts of health problems.

Protein

Like carbohydrates and fats, protein can be either good or bad, depending on how much of it you eat and how you eat it.  Vegetable proteins are usually considered to be good proteins.  These types of foods are easier for us to digest.  Bad protein is the protein you get from red meat, which can result in several different health problems.  Such health problems can seriously affect the colon.

Processed Foods

Processed foods are just not that healthy for you.  By sticking with natural and organic foods, you’ll be taking in a lot healthier foods.  Instead, stick to fresh fruits and vegetables; raw is better!  These types of foods are easier for your body to digest and should always be eaten first.  The worst thing you can do is to eat a food, which is difficult to digest first and follow up with an easier digested food.

Water

Don’t forget to drink plenty of water.  For additional cleansing benefits, add a teaspoon or two of apple cider vinegar to each glass of water.  This will help cleanse and clear out your system, not to mention help fight off infection.  It’s an excellent cure for a bladder or yeast infection and adds a nice taste to your water, particularly if you feel like drinking plain water is bland and boring.
