There are four classifications of parasites. Parasites can make us feel fatigued, give us gastric distress and create other medical issues. Some people break out into a skin rash and others feel nauseous or ill overall.
Approximately 30 % of parasites thrive in our digestive system. The remaining 70 % can live throughout the body, including the blood, organs, brain and eyes. They can even live in the sinus cavities! There are over 1,000 types of parasites. Some common parasites include ringworm, tapeworm and pinworms.
Protaza
Most types of parasites are one cell protaza. They can invade any single cell in the body, can reproduce and multiply by duplicating themselves just like bacteria or a virus.
Genital Protaza
Known as Trichomonas, it can live in the female vagina and urethra and may cause a yellowish discharge accompanied by itching and burning. Trichomonas may also live in a man’s prostate.
Blood Protaza
Includes Malaria, blastocystis hominis, giardia lambia, cryptosporidium, American trypanosomiasis, tuberculosis, lymphatic filariasis, pfisteria, e-coli, leishmaniasis, listeria, trichinella, spirochete, entamoeba histolytica, balantinium coli, strongyloides stercoralis, acanthamoeba, cyclosporiasis and dientamoeba fragilis.
Nematodes (Roundworms)
Includes pinworms, hookworms, whipworms, ascaris, baylisascaris and schistosomiasis.
Trematodes (Flukes)
Includes liver flukes, lung flukes and blood flukes. Liver flukes infect the billary ducts and the gall bladder. Lung flukes are typically found in the lungs and can sometimes be mistaken for lung cancer on x-rays. Blood flukes travel all over the body and into the organs, including the brain and spinal cord. They can cause seizures and may destroy red blood cells.
Cestatodes (Tapeworms)
Most tapeworms are approximately ½ an inch long and are grayish-white in color. They can grow up to 33 feet long and can lay over 1 million eggs per day! Most of a tapeworm bodies are reproductive organs. Their heads can hook into the intestinal walls and the length of their bodies is made up of a section that are nothing but ovaries and testes for reproduction and the tail releases the eggs.
Types of cestatodes include pork tapeworms, fish tapeworm, dog tapeworms and alveolar echinococcosis.
Symptoms
Symptoms may include a crawling sensation, skin lesions, fatigue, cognitive difficulties, behavioral effects and fibers may be reported in and on skin lesions.
