Candida is essentially a yeast infection in your colon (or other parts of your body). If you have an overload of Candida, it is important to get rid of it. To do this, you can perform a colon cleanse.

The colon is involved with the digestion of foods and the elimination of waste. Unfortunately, the colon can become overgrown with yeast or Candida. If this occurs, you can have an increase in intestinal problems.

Fruit Smoothies

The best way to remove yeast is to start with a colon cleansing.

There are many ways to cleanse your colon from diet to hydrotherapy. One of the quickest ways to remove toxins from your colon is by use of a colonic or enema. Both of these treatments involve flushing water into your rectum and through your colon. These are used to remove all excess waste that may be clogged within the colon. Both are very effective and have been thought to even lead to overall better health.

So after you have cleansed your colon from excess toxins and waste, you should change your diet to colon cleansing foods. First, you should start with a diet full of organic vegetables and fruits. You can also use this opportunity to rid your diet of processed foods, fast foods and other unhealthy foods. You can also try a juice cleanse, in which you drink all organic fruit drinks. These drinks can be something you make at home.

As you continue with your colon cleansing diet, you can add a natural fiber supplement Psyllium. Psyllium is a natural fiber that can help the digestive system work more effectively. The recommended method for usage is to add one or two tablespoons to a glass of water and drink it with a meal, one to two times a day. This will move the waste matter out of your system.

Once you cleanse your colon and remove the excess waste and the Candida, you need to prevent it from returning. To prevent the return of Candida, you should change your diet. Reduce sugars, which lead to unnecessary break-outs of yeast. Avoid yeast-filled foods, such as breads, rolls, muffins and bagels. And avoid alcohol, which also contains yeast.

Shower or bathe every day to keep body yeasts at a minimum. You should dry and clean your genital area carefully. Candidas thrive in warm and moist environments. Therefore, if you exercise or perform strenuous work, you should re-shower and dry off again. Additionally, you should always wear a condom to prevent unnecessary exposures to yeast infections.

Finally one of the best ways to avoid yeast is to avoid taking antibiotics. Antibiotics are used to destroy the bacteria in your system; however, in turn they destroy the healthy bacteria. Without sufficient good bacteria, the Candida can easily multiply and overwhelm your system.

If you take precautions, you can manage to keep the yeast at a normal level within your body. The regular yeast is not a problem until it is overgrown. Therefore, prevention is the best method.

Candia is a yeast that builds up in your intestines creating digestion problems or abdominal discomfort. There are specific natural supplements that can cleanse your colon and remove Candida.

Candida can live in the small intestines, where the good bacteria fights against the bad bacteria. However, at some point, the bad bacteria leads to an overgrowth of yeast or Candida and the healthy bacteria cannot survive.

A colon cleanse will help remove the toxic wastes, including the yeast overgrowth.

There are many types of colon cleansing for Candida. One such example is the use of probiotics, which can be considered the opposite of antibiotics. If you have yeast in your colon, you may not be getting all of the necessary nutrients from the food you are eating. If this is the case, you may have bloating, abdominal discomfort and flatulence.

However, there is a probiotic supplement to help restore the normal balance to your colon. This probiotic is Lactobacillus acidophilus, which helps prevent continued growth of yeast in the gastrointestinal tract. In using this probiotic, you are re-populating the colon with healthy bacteria, which will minimize intestinal symptoms.

Lactobacillus can also prevent food allergies. In taking this supplement, it decreases the production of antibodies that the body produces and therefore in turn reducing allergic reactions. If you have food allergies, you may also unknowingly have chronic Candida. As treatment, you should take a probiotic, especially if you are taking antibiotics.

Along with a probiotic, there are numerous multivitamins and supplements you can take to maintain digestive health and monitor a yeast overgrowth. First, you can start with a multi-vitamin that contains Vitamin A, beta-carotene, and Vitamin C for overall health. You can also add in the following supplements, which each have their own benefits:

Antioxidants – help the body deal with toxic by-products and improve immune functioning

Organic germanium – to aid in immune support and improve gut mucosa

Magnesium – it has been shown that individuals with magnesium deficiency may have chronic yeast overgrowth

Vitamin B, including biotin – to assist in replacing diminished colon bacteria

Coenzyme Q10 – to actually treat yeast overgrowth

Echinacea – to enhance immune system activity

One of the best supplements to dislodge and kill Candida is flaxseed oil. It is an essential fatty acid with antioxidant properties.

Finally another cleansing supplement is hydrochloric tablets. These should be taken with means, as they help to effectively break down food to better use the proteins, vitamins and minerals within the foods. Hydrochloric acid is already occurring in your stomach and works to kill harmful bacteria found in food. If you have low stomach acid, you may experience intestinal distress or food allergies. The supplements can help.

The last thing you should be aware of in cleansing your body of Candida is that these Candida cells are tough cells with a strong barrier. Because of this the antifungal medications that are supposed to relieve them may not be able to penetrate the cells. In order to prevent this, the medications can be taken with a digestive enzyme with cellulose. This enzyme will break down the yeast cells. Once the yeast cells are broken down, the medication will be able to work to rid your body of the yeast.

Both men and women can get a Candida infection. Whether or not it has something to do with dietary habits, an immune system deficiency or the fact that a man and a woman may be passing the infection back and forth during sexual intercourse, it can be a recurring problem.

Men particularly often don’t realize that they have the problem to begin with. If you can discover the cause of your yeast infection or why you might be more susceptible to getting the infection, you can likely find a way to avoid the infection from reoccurring. When someone gets an infection, it means that there is an imbalance within their body. We all have a certain amount of Candida living in our bodies, but when an overgrowth of the yeast happens, it can be a real problem.

Some people suffer from chronic infections due to the fact that they have overused fungal drugs and creams. Once the Candida has been exposed to these types of drugs too often, they will become resistant to using them for treatment. The new infection from the fungus is often times even more destructive than originally. Prevention is always a better step for treating Candida infections. Here are some tips for avoiding recurrent infections:

Avoid over-eating too many sweets and yeast. That means limiting intake of bread, beer and other like foods.

Make sure you change your underwear daily. Some women must change their underwear twice a day. Underwear should always remain dry and clean.

Do not wash your clothing or your undergarments in laundry detergent, which is high in fragrance. Try using unscented detergent for your undergarments, if at all possible.

After you have suffered from an infection, run your undergarments on a sanitary cycle (if possible) or boil in a pot of water on the stove for 15 minutes in order to disinfect and get rid of the infection.

Utilize anti-fungal powders or anti-moisture powders (sprinkle in your underwear) in order to cut down on the amount of moisture present in your underpants.

Be careful about what types of soap you use to wash your personal areas down with. Either use a soap especially formulated for the vaginal area or use an unscented soap or just plain warm water. Using soap that is too strong can cause irritation.

Always rinse your vaginal area down after sexual intercourse, especially if using a condom or other contraceptives. These types of contraceptives tend to leave behind harsh chemicals. It is a good idea for both the man and the woman to go to the bathroom, if possible, to release fluids from the body. Never have sexual intercourse and then go to bed or sleep without first rinsing your personal areas off. Dry with a soft towel completely before putting on your undergarments.

Avoid overuse of personal hygiene products as using them too much can cause a resistance to treatment.

The immune system is your first defense against illnesses, viruses and bacteria. However, in fighting some of these conditions, you will take antibiotics. These antibiotics can lead to a yeast overgrowth. There is a vicious cycle of taking medications to make you better, but then counteracting the medications to get rid of the yeast.

First, it is important to understand what the immune system is. The immune system is of vital importance. It is a protection mechanism that defends your body against viruses, toxins and parasites. The immune system actually attacks organisms and substances that invade our body and causes disease. The immune system is made up of cells, tissues and organs working together.

Candida can weaken the gastrointestinal tract and make it more susceptible to other infections. An immune system already undermined by other factors such as poor nutrition or environmental pollutants will be unable effectively to deter this yeast growth. When this occurs, Candida will effectively weaken and disturb the immune system so that further damage may occur.

When your immune system is strong, Candida yeasts do not pose any problems. However, if you take broad-spectrum antibiotics, the good bacteria that prevent fungal infections from developing are knocked out. The Candida yeasts are not affected, so they multiply and put out toxins that further weaken the immune system. Consequently, you may experience repeated infections, and these infections may be treated with another round of antibiotics, encouraging further growth of Candida. It appears to be a vicious circle.

In the intestinal tract, there is Candida, which tries to invade the intestinal wall. When this occurs, the immune system responds with inflammation. This creates a problem because Candida suppresses the immune system’s offensive weapons, so the Candida stays and the inflammation is prolonged.

The prolonged inflammation creates its own set of digestive problems. This prolonged inflammation is called ulcerative colitis if it occurs in the large intestine and it is called Crohn’s disease if it occurs in the small intestine. These disorders are prolonged inflammation resulting from the immune system’s inability to clear Candida.

For example as to how a yeast condition can grow and cause problems, in ulcerative colitis, there is painful inflammation of the intestine rather than regulated containment. As the body fights the yeast in the intestine, some of the cells fighting the yeast circulate and come into contact with yeast on the skin and start an inflammation there, which can lead to additional skin disorders.

As your immune system is the most important thing to preventing illnesses, you should do whatever you can to keep it healthy. To boost your resilience, you can do many at home things. First as with many conditions, eating a healthy diet helps with your immune system. As we have discussed on many occasion, a high fat and high sugar diet can cause an overgrowth of yeast. It can also create excess weight, both of which would lower your immune system.

Another suggestion to build your immune system is to take vitamins. These can include simply a multi-vitamin to ensure your body maintains all essential vitamins you might not be getting from your food. Finally, reduce stress levels. High stress can lead to a lowered immune system.

Candida is naturally occurring in your body; however, an overgrowth created by your diet or antibiotic use can become problematic. Candida can become overloaded in your colon and cause digestive tract problems.

The colon is the last part of your digestive system, connected to your small intestines. Its job is to extract water and salt from your food and eliminate the remaining portions from the body as waste.

The colon has an important job and if it becomes clogged because of yeast, an infection or excess materials, you can experience severe abdominal problems.

Candida is a fungus that normally inhabits the mouth, throat, gastrointestinal tract or the vagina. What most people are familiar with are yeast infections, normally occurring in the vaginal area. However, Candida can also live in your small intestine.

With this yeast growing in your gastrointestinal tract, an unhealthy environment can be created in your intestines. If this occurs, the healthy bacteria needed in your body cannot survive and there will become an overgrowth of bacteria.

This overgrowth can cause difficulties in the colon. As stated above, the colon is the waste removal for the body. If you have excess matter in your colon, including Candida yeast, this matter can get backed up and solidified in your colon. Without a regular cleansing, it can get trapped there for years or decades, slowly releasing toxins into your system. It can harden and attach itself to the wall of the colon.

As this waste material accumulates with your intestines, it is a breeding ground for Candida. It can release toxins into your bloodstream. These toxins can spread through your body, affecting every part of it.

As relates to your colon, toxins can cause constipation, diarrhea, heartburn, irritable bowel syndrome, leaky gut syndrome and many other conditions.

For example with leaky gut syndrome, your intestinal lining becomes porous, causing large spaces between the cells of the gut wall. When this happens, toxic material, such as bacteria, fungus and parasites enter into the bloodstream causing food allergies, nutrient deficiencies and serious health problems. You can experience inflammation in your abdominal region with leaky gut syndrome. This can make you more susceptible to viruses, bacteria and parasites.

There are quite a few conditions that cause a yeast overgrowth in your colon. These may include: Use of antibiotics, diabetes, your diet, stress or vitamin deficiencies.

A typical diet is full of high amounts of fats and sugars. These bad foods inhibit friendly bacteria and place a heavy burden on our already overworked colon, which can lead to an overgrowth of yeast and other bacteria.

Antibiotics use can also lead to yeast problems. When you take antibiotics, no matter what type of infection you are trying to cure, you will kill the good bacteria that are all over your body naturally, including the bacteria in your digestive tract and vagina. When this happens, the bad bacterium takes over creating problems.

If you have Candida problems, it is important to figure this out and take care of it as soon as possible. There are many treatment options, including a change in diet, a colon cleanse or antifungal medications.

Candida is a type of yeast, which normally resides within the human body in the human digestive tract. Your immune system is what keeps the Candida in check. Candida is considered to be a very beneficial Probiotic within the body.

If this type of bacteria is killed or removed, the immune system will become weakened. Candida yeast may become overgrown, which can have a negative effect on the body and overall health. Oral thrush, skin infections and vaginal yeast infections can result from Candida overgrowth.

People who have severely weakened immune systems, such as AIDS or HIV, can develop a widely spread Candida yeast infection. This is a serious condition, referred to as systemic candidiasis. There are some people, who believe that Candida overgrowth is due to a condition in the intestines, which can cause fatigue, headache, mood swings, sinus congestion, depression, poor memory, poor concentration and cravings for sweets.

The excess of Candida yeast in the intestines can penetrate the intestine walls, which causes yeast overgrowth as well as unwanted particles to be absorbed into the body. This is believed to activate the immune system, resulting in a somewhat allergic-type reaction and a hypersensitivity to Candida.

Contributing factors include:

use of contraceptives, steroids, antacids, anti-ulcer medications or frequent and long-term use of antibiotics

high-sugar diets

pregnancy

smoking

food allergies and intolerances

diabetes

There are some alternative practitioners who believe you can modify your diet in order to prevent Candida overgrowth or to get rid of an infection. The following are the diet guidelines:

Avoidance of sugar is the first step. For one thing, when people suffer from a yeast overgrowth, they tend to crave large quantities of sugar. Sugar allows the perfect breeding ground for yeast. Those wishing to get rid of yeast overgrowth should eat limited quantities of sugar throughout the day. Stick to 60 grams or less a day.

Avoid foods, which contain yeast. This includes any fermented foods, such as bread, cheese, tomato paste, mushrooms and beer. Some believe that people who are allergic to Candida are also allergic to other fungi. Not all practitioners believe this restriction to be necessary.

The length of the diet is dependent on the severity of the symptoms. The worse symptoms are, the longer the individual will need to follow the diet. People often say that it takes approximately four weeks to treat symptoms completely.

Herbs and supplements can also be beneficial for Candida treatment. In some cases, a doctor will prescribe certain medications to treat a Candida overgrowth infection. Start off with a small amount of herbs and work up to larger quantities. You may feel sicker in the beginning of treatment, because as the yeast is killed off, it is believed that they release additional toxins into the human body, which may make the individual feel immediately out of sorts and/or sick.

Candida is a yeast fungus that can grow throughout various areas of your body, in particular in your colon. While some amount of yeast is normal and not problematic, if there is an overgrowth you may develop symptoms, such as one would have with an infection. If you have an overgrowth, you can choose various foods to help control it.

Young woman picking at a bowl of nuts

Candida is a fungus that grows in the mouth, throat, gastrointestinal tract and vagina. When Candida overgrows in the body, it can cause illnesses such as thrush and candidiasis, which is essentially a yeast infection. There are ways to avoid Candida growth, including changing your diet.

If you suffer from Candida or yeast infections, you should avoid certain foods.

First, cut out all sugars and sugar-containing foods. Yeasts feed on and derive their energy from sugar. The yeast can ferment the sugars to produce ethanol or alcohol, as well as a more serious toxic chemical, acetaldehyde. By reducing the amount of sugar in your diet, you will be able to reduce the amount of sugars available in your intestines. Starches, carbohydrates, and alcohol, which also break down into sugar in the body should be avoided.

In purchasing foods you should be aware that there are many different substances that are high in sugar. You should avoid the following ingredients: fructose, glucose, lactose, maltose, mannitol, sorbitol, and sucrose, along with honey, maple syrup, and molasses.

Many processed and packaged foods, since as readymade meals, canned dinners also contain an exorbitant amount of sugar and should be eliminated from your diet.

Other products that should be avoided are food items that already contain yeast or mold. If you already have an intestinal overgrowth of yeast, your immune system reactions will not be able to deal with the intense levels of yeast. These yeast containing products include:

Alcoholic beverages

Cheeses, buttermilk, sour cream, and sour milk products

Condiments – vinegar and vinegar-containing foods such as mayonnaise, mustard, pickles, relishes, and soy sauce

Dried fruits – apricots, dates, figs, prunes, raisins, etc.

Edible fungi – all types of mushrooms and truffles

Malt products – candy, cereals, and malted milk drinks

Packaged fruit juices (may contain mold)

The following should be eaten in moderation only:

Grains – corn, barley, millet, oats, rice, wheat

High carbohydrate vegetables – beans, parsnips, peas, potatoes, squashes, sweet corn, sweet potatoes, and turnips

Fruit juices

So with all these limitations, what are you supposed to eat? While it seems like you are removing many things from your diet, there is many stuff you can eat. Stick with the healthy foods:

Vegetables

Nuts and seeds

Whole grains

Eggs

Yogurt (one of the best kind for this case might be Dannon Activia)

Meats, poultry, and fish

Butter

Fresh fruit

As this is a normal healthy diet, it may be something you want to stick with. However, to reduce yeast overgrowth, it is important to remove yeast inducing products for at least three to four weeks. In doing so, along with removing the immediate yeast infection, you may also be able to eliminate the underlying problem which makes your infection reoccurring.
